Tex-Scapes Nursery Sells Trees Too!
Sure, our garden center has a huge selection of flowering plants, palm trees, ornamentals, shrubs, and other foliage, but that's not all we sell. We also have a large selection of trees of all types, including fresh cut Christmas trees during the holidays. You'll think you're walking through a forest when your start browsing our varieties! Like all of our nursery plants, our trees are either native to Texas, or they're perfectly suited to the climate here.
We Specialize in Native Texas Tree Species
When we stock our tree nursery, we're really choosy about the types of trees we bring in. We're only interested in trees that are either native to Texas, or have adapted to grow well here. There's really no point in us carrying trees that can only grow in a cold northern climate, so we don't bother. Besides, there are many beautiful species of trees that are native to our area.
What Tree Species Are Native to the North Texas Area?
What's wonderful about Ellis and Navarro Counties is that there are some unique and diverse habitats. From rolling blacklands to woodland areas and waterside habitats, North Texas supports a surprising variety of tree species. And, it just so happens that we carry most if not all of them in our tree nursery.
- Oak Trees
- Elm Trees
- Possum Haw Holly Trees
- Pine Trees
- Pecan Trees
- American Beauty Berry
- Mesquite Trees
Planting a tree is a long-term commitment and can require some planning. Consider the spot you want to plant in, how big the tree gets, and what its sun and water needs are. Not sure where to start? We'll help you figure out the best native tree species for your property and we'll make sure you know how to care for it.
We've Got Texas Hardy Flowering Trees!
There's nothing quite as glorious as a tree that's in full bloom. They announce the beginning of spring and transform the landscape into a palette of color ranging from white to pink, purple, and scarlet red. Those blossoms aren't just pretty; they're also a vital food source for honeybees, hummingbirds, and other animals.
- Magnolia Trees
- Crepe Myrtle Trees
- Redbud Trees
- Desert Willow Trees
- Dogwood Trees
Of course, this is only a small sample of the flowering trees we have in the Tex-Scapes tree nursery. You'll have to come in and take a look for yourself. You'll be amazed at how healthy and happy our trees are, and how many of them we have for you to choose from!
Tex-Scapes Tree Nursery Has More Fruit Trees Than An Orchard
We love a good shade tree and a pretty flowering tree as much as the next gardener. But we also really love fruit trees. They offer some of the shade a big oak would, and they also produce pretty flowers. But the best part is the sweet, delicious fruit they produce. If you like fresh fruit as much as we do, consider having one of these types on your property:
- Peach trees
- Pear trees
- Plum trees
- Apricot trees
- Apple trees
- Fig trees
- Nectarine trees
- Pomegranate trees
If you're looking for a fruit tree to fill a space in your garden, a few to plant in the backyard, or enough to start your own orchard, come see us. We know a lot about planting and growing fruit trees in North Texas, and we'll be happy to answer your questions or help you pick out your trees.
Tree Health and Maintenance Issues? Let the Tex-Scapes Staff Help
Nothing's quite as traumatizing for a gardener as planting a tree only to see it struggle to survive. It's heartbreaking when the leaves turn yellow and fall or buds fail to open. Whether the cause of the problem is an insect infestation, an irrigation or drainage issue, or maintenance issues, we know how urgent it is. We've helped many gardeners fight these kinds of problems so their precious trees could thrive. Let us help you too.
Don't Let Bugs Bug Your Trees
One of the great reasons for growing native trees is they're often resistant to harmful leaf-eating and bark burrowing insects. That doesn't mean they're immune, though. If your trees show signs of an infestation like yellowing leaves, partially eaten leaves, holes in bark, or actual bugs, come see us. Grab some of the offending critters and bring them with you so we know what we're up against. Don't worry—we've got a full line of conventional pesticides as well as organic supplies, so we'll get rid of what's bugging you real quick.
Irrigation and Drainage For Trees
Trees need water in order to grow, produce leaves, flower, and fruit. But they don't like to be in standing water and require well-drained soil. If the slope of your property isn't correct, the water won't drain away, and your trees will struggle to survive. We can help by providing high-quality landscaping service, including:
- Irrigation System Installation
- Irrigation System Repairs
- Drainage Installation
Call Tex-Scapes if you're concerned about irrigation or drainage issues on your property. We'll be happy to send out our irrigation and drainage specialists to evaluate the situation.
